On the ISC Front

Lt Gen Kartar Singh

There has been activity on all fronts for the ISC in the last quarter. Progress of Education in Rural Areas has certainly been hit by the drugs Menace plus the havoc wrought by heavy rains in all districts of Punjab. It will be some months before damage control is effective.

Central Scholarships
We are keeping a close watch on the availability and distribution of minority scholarship to deserving students. Fortunately a majority of students who applied in time and correctly are receiving them. Results received from our rural coaching centers bear witness to this.

New Coaching Center at Ambala Jattan (Hoshiarpur)
a) After a few more mutual visits to each other, we have made a lot of progress. Dr. Anil Verma an expert in this direction visited the School and undertook many steps forward such as issuing of Essential Special Teaching Material has been supplied in a second and third Meeting. Both sides have shown great interest and we hope to report the full functioning of the Center in our next Report.

Coaching Centre in Chandigarh
This too is well on the way to start functioning very soon under guidance from Dr. Anil Verma and help material has already been published and distributed. We expect it to start functioning at the earliest as decided in a meeting held on 16 Sept 2019.

Progress in Hyderabad Area
a) Firstly, we must update readers on the rapid progress made by our "Happy Learning School" in the Hyderabad area. We bring good news of its rapid upward progress. The Building is receiving a third expansion. This was required because of the rapid upgrading in attendance and plans for opening of High School classes. Our very kind Donors have joined ISC in raising funds for this rapid expansion. Major donation amounting to Rs 7 lacs per year were made by S. Surinder Singh. This includes expenses for School Bus and also covers ISC help rendered to poor Sikligar Children identified in other schools/colleges for Technical Education. To honour such pious and liberal donors we presented an Excellent ISC Momentos through our hard working Secretary,

b) School Principal: S Hardev Singh, an Educated Member of the well known Sikligar Family in Hyderabad is the most efficient Headmaster/ Principal accepts no pay as a role model in this area. KUDOS to him for this great job done so far.

c) In Hyderabad Near-Nagar Juna Sagar on 28th July 2019 Approximately 2500 Banjaras had a Seminar/Lecture for joining main Stream of Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat and showed lot of eagerness for the uplift of Education and spreding Guru Nanak Ji's Philosophy.

Evening Education Classes in Villages
S.Narinderpal Singh, a retired Bank Manager, who is now working in organizing above Classes for the ISC has very successfully expanded his Zone of action in 3 to 4 Centers within reach of our HQ. This started as an experiment but but our team is now in demand in more districts within reach.

To celebrate 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, ISC has targeted on under privileged Students for basic Educational help by opening Home Work Tution Centers at Five Village Gurudwaras on Chandigarh-Rajpura Road where approximately three hundred Students attend Tution Classes from 5:00 PM to 6:30PM at Gurudwara Sahib of Villages named Alampur, Nepra, Thanaa, Niamatpur, Kalomajra and Jinsuee. With these Classes in addition to the normal Academics, Children are given the knowledge of Gurbani and Sikh History. Our NRI Members S.Vikramjit Singh is helping in the form of rewarding monetarily and also giving Teachers incentives.
